I’m curious tho. How long was it after he ate when he tested?
Should be at least 2hrs after eating to see what your preprandial numbers will be.
You shouldn’t correct with a bolus unless you are high after this stage, not before, else you risk going low.
Also, a bolus is administering a SMALL amount of fast acting insulin, not a large amount.
I hope he wasn’t testing shortly after breakfast, and waited at least 2 hours.
